Part 2 - Key Facts:
Cancer is the result of changes in cells that cause uncontrolled growth and division.
Benign tumours are abnormal cell growths contained within one area and usually enclosed in a membrane. They do not spread to other parts of the body.
Malignant tumours, or cancers, invade nearby tissues and can spread to different parts of the body through the bloodstream, forming secondary tumours.
Lifestyle factors, such as diet, smoking, and exposure to radiation, are associated with various types of cancer.
Genetic factors also contribute to the risk of developing certain types of cancer.
